We are a relatively
small foundation granting less than $400,000 per year. We often enjoy
meeting at our prospective grantee sites and sometimes participating with
them in certain projects. For this reason we confine our grants to
social service organizations in the All correspondence including inquiries, proposals and reports should be sent to us as a Microsoft Word or Excel document only via e-mail. Proposals should consist of two parts. The Cover Letter and the Proposal itself. The Cover Letter should be a brief overview of the request. The Cover Letter is important in that it may be the only portion of the proposal that is read. The proposal itself should contain all the information needed by the Trustees to determine if they would like to visit you and possibly fund the project. It is our policy to not grant more than two years in a row to any agency. If we should grant an agency two consecutive years, then we ask that they wait three years before applying again. If an agency does not fulfill our request for timely reporting, we will not fund again for a minimum of four years.
It may be prudent to
submit a brief letter summarizing the request before submitting a full
proposal. This may aid in eliminating wasted time in the development of a
proposal that does not fit our guidelines or Focus. Correspondence such as this should
be sent to: “Info @ReuterFdn. Org”.
There is no special form for grant applications. However, each proposal must include a one-page cover letter describing the project, the amount of funds requested, a statement that you are not a 509(a) (3) agency, the contact person, and e-mail address. The preparation of this cover letter is important because if it is not worded convincingly, the remainder of the proposal may not be read. The cover letter and proposal should be sent to: Proposal @ReuterFdn. org and signed by the organizations Executive Director.
The Proposal itself should be no more than four pages, written in Microsoft Word or Excel, and include: · Project description. purpose and outcome desired. · Justification of need. · Budgeting and expenditure of funds. · Specific goals, objectives, outcomes and methods of meeting them. · Time frame to completion. · Statement if your agency is a 509(a)(3) organization. ·
A copy of your IRS determination letter and your most recent
financial report can be sent via snail mail at a later time if you are
awarded a grant.
Requests are constantly
being evaluated. We will acknowledge via email that we received your
proposal. Proposals should be e-mailed
to: Proposal @ReuterFdn. org.
We have configured this email address to automatically send copies of
your Proposal to all our Trustees for their immediate review. We will contact you 2 to 4 weeks after
receipt of your proposal.
We will acknowledge
receipt of your Proposal within 48 hours of our receipt. If you do not receive this confirmation, please
call us and inquire. |
